Deliplayer

Sat Jan 30, 2016 11:53 am

Up and running after obtaining a new PC with Windows 10

All games appear to be running with sound. Only problem is with Deliplayer - was working fine on my old PC with XP but having problems here

When I select play music on the frontend, nothing happens. Checked my paths are all correct - the problem appears to be with Deliplayer itself

When I select the icon, nothing opens up - just a flash of the spinning blue circle. Tried running it in different compatability modes and using the .exe as a DEP - again nothing.

Any ideas or alternatives to use?

Many thanks

DeliPlayer hasn't been updated in 16 years...

BZR is a very good player (not perfect).

BZR is a good alternative although doesn't play all of them, another alternative is XMPlay which plays some that BZR doesn't

The only one that plays them all is Deliplayer which as already mentioned hasn't been updated in 16 years :(

Why people have "upgraded" to Windows 10 is beyond me though...(and no I wouldn't call 8.1 an upgrade either).

That makes two of us.

Sorry couldn't resist.

Btw, for you JST (vintage) users out there, I have installed and uploaded 367 so far to EAB FTP the same place where new WHDLoad stuff is uploaded.
I still have 25 installs left to do though.

I think it has been pointed out in the past that Deliplayer did not work 100% in Win7 either. Further Windows upgrades would not have helped that situation much.
I have a lot of respect for Gamebase creators, maintainers & supporters.

Deliplayer works on Windows 7, it's what I use.
The only problem I have with it is the first time it loads, the volume is set to 0, turn it up and after that it's fine.

Hi guys

I have upgraded to win 10 so the Deliplayer version I had didn't work. I got a copy of version 2.5 beta and this works a treat if I load it up and play the files directly. But when in Gamebase and click on the Play Music icon it loads Deliplayer but not the music file.

I have checked the Music Player properties and it loads using /play %musicfile%. I believe this to be correct or am i missing something.

Short filenames is unchecked and supported file types is ZIP;

It tends to do that for me as well (win 7) but if deliplayer is left open, and you click play again in gamebase it works after that.

No idea about win 10 though.

Sorry for the very late reply, but in Win10 even after leaving Deliplayer open and selecting a file, still does nothing. Must be an issue with Win10.

Are there no other players that can handle these files correctly?

As already mentioned above...
BZR or XMPlay are your only real alternatives to use with GameBase and Windows.

Have you tried XMPlay with the Delix (Deliplayer) plugin.

This is worth a look...

compiled - Cygwin on Windows

if you can't get it working though GameBase with one of the command-lines.
it has a one to convert music file to WAV.

uade123 song.blah -f filename.wav

Return to “Commodore Amiga - GameBase Amiga”
