Whenever I try to start v1.3 of the GameBase (with v7 of the Collection) I get the following error:
GB_GBC_v07
Run-time error '91':
Object variable or With block variable not set
I get the same when downgrading to v1.2. V1.3 didn't used to do that, used to run just as stable as stable can be.
I've installed Quick64!, so, therefore, I've installed that runtime thingy at the top of the Download page here, but Quick64! works fine.
Why is this happening? What can I do to correct this and run my GameBase Collection v7 via v1.3 of the frontend in peace and enjoyment? Please, PLEASE help!

I've got exactly the same problem on v1.2... I was browsing v7 of the C64 database yesterday, the list went blank and stopped scrolling. I had to use Task Manager to close the application and now I can't get back in to the C64 database - although I can look at other Gamebases.

step 1.
if you have edited any data in the gamebase.
download the setup again and overwrite the MDB file.
step 2.
One of the entries in gamebase will be corrupt,
or have a field number linking to something that doesn't exsist.
one way to try and fix it (if you havent got Access Installed)
is by using Gamebase Toolbox v1.3.
open the toolbox right click on the gamebase icon to fix,
and select scan and fix errors.
however untill the offending entry gets fixed properly,
Gamebase will continue to crash when it is selected.
if you can tell me the Game entry that crashes the gamebase,
i will try and fix it for you.

I think my problem is that it's trying to find an entry that doesn't exist. I've re-installed the Gamebase but that hasn't helped, and I've tried to fix errors.
What's happening is I load Gamebase, select GBC_v07, get the splash screen OK but then the error pops up BEFORE the main Gamebase screen appears.
Does Gamebase store any INI files or other configuration outside the Gamebase directory?

Okay, I'll try that, merman. I sure hope it works. I love the new GameBase64 Collection and v1.3 of the frontend and v2.2 of WinVICE. I can hardly wait to use it again! hehehe I'll try that stuff.
