This is a important gamebase so come on!

I'm using WinAPE, which supports the autorun feature via commandline with Gamebase. Works like a charm.
Add_CLP( /A)

i am using winape as my default emulator in gamebase
and my script is
Add_CLP(%gamepathfile%)
Add_CLP(/A)
Run_Emulator()
but it doesn't work it just opens teh emulator without doing a thing
if i change the script to
Add_CLP(/A)
Run_Emulator()
it does run automatically but with what have been last saved in the disk of the emulator
so how can i change the game file and then let the emulator run
so it will work as in gamebase 64 with vice?

You forgot the space, the correct commandline is:
Add_CLP( /A)

I came across a alternate goodcpc database, don't know if it's as good as the OPs one in development but it has been released.. see here:-

Do we need both files?
Why?

no, you only need what you want.
The TOSEC file contains only the CPC programs.
Games (CPR)
Games (DSK)
Demos
Applications
Utils
The GameBase file also contains the Games but has all the Extras. Screens, Manuals etc.

Greetings,
I am the maintainer of the project & just discovered this thread. So welcome all, I hope you enjoy my work. Feel free to offer suggestions, comments, corrections...
I also feel I need to point out a few things that are specific to this gamebase project:
- I aim to add programs that are original (commercial, freeware,...), so the project will not include hacked or otherwise modified releases.
- Only programs that are known (or thought) to be complete (as in with box, manual, media & extras) will be added to the database. The only exception is Le Pacte, because I just couldn't resist

- I will release updates every time I add 100 softwares to the database. That means every couple of months if there are no issues (like a HD crash - thanks WD !)
- I only add roms if I have an original unmodified dump (there are a few exceptions where I added a single file to allow the game to autoboot).
- I plan to dump all my originals (I have over 900) eventually, but that could take some time. Especially since I don't have a way to dump originals as of yet

Anyone who can get a 3" drive on a PC to transfer originals is welcome to contact me at
LOICNES@YAHOO.COM.
The next update is going to happen shortly (maybe today if everything goes well) & I will make sure to post the links on this thread.

I really couldn't help myself to wait so I downloaded your version 2 of your gamebase. Been going pretty mad recording music, screenshots, grabbing flyers etc and adding my favourite games to it.

Greetings,
Well, I am still waiting for Sensey to get back to me. If I don't get any answer from him by the end of the week I will go ahead & post the files on some file hosting website.
The good news about this delay is that I have been adding a lot of originals since last week & the new package should have about 180 originals included (with videos & all). I have also made a few corrections to the database, replaced or added some screenshots & fixed the Caprice32 CFG file (should work a lot better now).
So worst case scenario, the update will be posted this week end.
Loic
@cheapas: the problem with adding your games is that with each new release, your database will be overwritten, unless you keep 2 copies of GBCPC (yours & mine)

Hello again,
Sensey replied to my requests at the same time I was posting my message on the forums. Talk about timing
So, without further ado, here are the download links:
- Update only (if you already installed GBCPC V2):
http://hosting.ze-raw.org/gbcpc/GBCPCV3Update.rar
- Full release (if this is your first install):
http://hosting.ze-raw.org/gbcpc/GBCPCV3Full.rar
Please read the readme_en.txt for details.
I am welcoming any comments, suggestions, corrections...
I will also start adding longplays to the database (a longplay is a video of of a finished game from loading screen to end screen). Anyone insterested can contact me at
LOICNES@YAHOO.COM. Please do not start recording longplays before contacting me first (it is not as simple as it seems).
Have fun,
Loic
