You can now order your copy of "The Commodore 64 Book 1982 - 19xx" from the website at:
http://c64goldenyears.com
This is the follow-up to Andrew Rollings' ZX Spectrum Book that was released at the end of 2006. You can find out more about that title at http://zxgoldenyears.com
Author Andrew Fisher, who has written for magazines including Commodore Force, Commodore Format and Retro Gamer, will be covering over 200 classic (and not so classic) Commodore titles, with fascinating trivia about the machine, the programmers and companies and the games themselves.
The book is a limited edition, with a foreword by gaming legend Jeff Minter
I'd also like to say a big thank you to Michael Plate and the Gamebase64 team for their invaluable help with compiling cover scans and images that will be used in the book.
Welcome to the Gamebase 64 forums. An attempt to document ALL Commodore 64 gameware before it's too late!

OK, a little more information...
JEFF MINTER has written the foreword to the book.
The final proof-reading is taking place, and it will be going to the printers on the 1st of December. So orders will be going out in January - get your pre-order in now to make sure you get a copy!

:)
as a pre-order(er), I am ver much looking forward to receiving this, reading it, and then pulling out the ZXyears book and reading that again!
These books are more than just a 'bit' of hard work and dedication... They are testament to the love for Retro Gaming. I very much doubt that the current swathe of games (large budget productions as they are) have the same sort of love that a 48k (or 64k!) bit of bedroom coding has deservedly gained. Current titles get turned into movies for heavens sake. I do not think 'encounter' or 'turrican' would make big budget movies that anyone would want to watch...
I may be wrong?
My 'Elite' issue of retro gamer (latest issue) turned up recently, so that will have to do until the book arrives.

:) another excellent read.
My copy turned up a week or so ago, and it is certainly well worth the pre-order / wait.
I think the quality is even better then the previous ZX effort (not because of the content, but it just seems more 'polished').

Just a reminder that The Commodore 64 Book is still available, and would make a perfect Christmas present for the C64 fan in your life... or a great present to yourself
