More of a quick launcher than a Gamebase.
This contains no info or ROMs.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LL2WGILP
GBA.7z (73.33MB)
This Gamebase requires these ROM Sets.
No-Intro - GBA Merged ROM Set 2009-08-19. (6.6GB)
No-Intro - GBA Cracked ROM Set. (234 MB)
(Torrents are available on UG).
if anyone wants to insert any info or extras.
GO FOR IT!. |

No-Intro - GBA Cracked ROM Set is available on UG, but impossible to find No-Intro - GBA Merged ROM Set 2009-08-19. Only found [No-Intro] Nintendo Gameboy Advance (20091011) [GBA/Various/2009] - 12.2GB and [no-intro] Nintendo - Game Boy Advance (20091024) P/C [Merged/Torrent7z] [GBA/romset/2009] - 6.61GB.
Does it mean if I download 6.61GB package (here: http://www.underground-gamer.com/details.php?id=41848 , will it be enough to run at least 90% of games with just simple clicks on Gamebase ? Asking because I don't know if there were not too many renames on the newest [Merged] and I don't wanna loose ratio if it does. |

This is what i used.
only a few of these are needed to run on emulators.
so you dont need to download all 3 versions of the same hacked game.
just pick the version you want (Europe, Japanese or USA).
[cracked]
http://www.underground-gamer.com/details.php?id=37675
[same merged torrent]
http://www.underground-gamer.com/details.php?id=41848
in the NEW torrent you mentioned is the same set
with just a few ROMs that have been renamed.
ALL the roms are there, so just rename those manually after verify.
or use the old romcenter dat when downloaded.
the 6GB is the same as the 12GB torrent just merged packed.
so you know which one to get. |

drats, I have the 'complete and numbered' collection, not the merged, or good sets.
Don't fancy downloading 6+gig again.
oh well. |

Hi Arthur,
no need to download any more ROMs.
just use this DAT file in Romcenter,
to rename your ROM collection.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MST8DQFF
it will only take you 2 mins. |

I will keep the 'numbered' colelction seperately archived on dvd's.
I think I will just go for the alternative GBA collection to keep them seperate. |

|
|
The collection is a whole lot of .7z's
the GBA structure has
a
b
c
etc as rom folders.
A) should I move the .7z's into teh re;evant folder
B) will it work with .7z's (I am running 1.3 beta) |

you need to extract all the merged 7zip files,
so you have 2880 GBA files.
Then sort them into folders as shown in the READ THIS file.
(in the roms dir)
The Gamebase / Launcher is only setup for .GBA files.
so they can use the IPS patches were needed.
7zip support will be in the next BETA or Full version
of Gamebase. v1.3. |

I downloaded the dos 17gb torernt, and the 1st of the 2 gba torrents, leaving upload set to maximum as a share!
I am nice.
However, no-one is requesting these anymore so my ratio is stuffed.
I can therefore not get access to the second gba torrent set.
If only UG realised that sometimes old stuff goes out of fashion and only saddos like myself request them.
with so many other avenues for access, whay does UG get such acclaim, and heavy dependence from retro gamers?
Ratio sites are great, if they are up to date and the currently requested items are taged as being ratio dependant, and the old sets are a bit more open to access (how often will someone want a colelction of old dos games, by comparison to something more current...?)

You could always make a donation to UG, then you can stuff up your ratio as much as you like |

I know exactly what you mean about the ratio problem.
the only time my ratio goes up is on a free leech weekend.
when everyone starts downloading.
MAME is a good torrent to seed if you have it.
click on "Save the World" from the home page EVERYDAY
for a 30MB free boost.
that's about 1GB a month.
and before you ask,
yes i have donated. |
