adding a new field

Mon Jun 07, 2004 8:01 pm

Hi, I'm having trouble creating a new field called "Release Date"

I'm not using a lot of the fields....like Musician....

Is there a way to make this new field? and other fields?

Modifying Fields

YES, Gamebase is designed to allow this.

You just need to modify your Text.ini file to suit.
Take a look at the text.ini's of GamebaseZX, GamebaseST, or SNES Gamebase for clues. Modified fields have been incorporated in each of those.

unfortunatley the current 'date' only allows dor year, and no other info.
I have the month of release also, is it possible to incorporate this into the frontend..

The GameBase Collection (C64) uses the coment field for specific dates, like a magazine issue number and/or month. I suppose one of the other fields could be changed into a release month, like Musician, using the process decribed above.
