Database of all GameBase Projects

Whew... this turned into a serious project. I humbly present to the GameBase community... the first (and only, as far as I can tell) GameBase Project Database!

The attached Excel spreadsheet (in a .zip file) includes the following useful info:

• Platform
• GameBase Project Title
• Author(s)
• Latest Version
• Latest Release Date
• Project Page / Info Link
• Download Link
• Notes

Assorted notes:

1) I didn't include unreleased projects. I started to, then realized it was more confusing than helpful. These can be added as they're released, for ease of use.

2) I did my very best to compile the most accurate information possible. Hopefully I didn't inadvertently step on any toes in the process.

3) I included a second page that contains links to various GameBase-related resources, for convenience.

4) I fear that some GameBase projects are already lost to time, and more will disappear if they're not given a more permanent place to download them. Freenit's incredibly generous torrent is invaluable, but I'm hoping somebody will take on the task of putting these great works somewhere safe - maybe Archive.org?

5) As of the May 2022 update, the Excel is easier to read and I've included a .txt version for convenience.

6) For everyone's convenience, can this post be pinned to the top? Please?

As I'm compiling this spreadsheet, one thing is sticking out to me...

This awesome community has done some WORK.

I knew the database would be large... I had no idea it'd be massive. I'm about 1/3 done.

I can't wait to share this beast with you all!

Something else that may be of interest is a member here made lists several years ago of known computers, consoles, and handhelds with an * next to each to denote a gamebase existed for it. The lists are about 10 years old and badly out of date, but some use could probably come from them.

Good call. There's probably other GameBases that don't include games too. I didn't download every project to check (the database would've taken weeks if I did).
