Re: Database of all GameBase Projects
The database is updated once again! (See this thread's first post for the zip.) I learned from .mad. that the Sega SG-1000 GameBase was actually updated and merged into his Sega Mark III GameBase, so that means we're down to a mere TWO GameBases with missing download links. How cool is that? Thanks, .mad.!

Re: Database of all GameBase Projects
NICE. Database updated again! Thank you!
I also just discovered that the missing PC Engine Super CD-ROM2 GameBase is on freenit's to-be-uploaded list (https://gb64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=32471#p32471), so with any luck, it'll be on Archive.org soon. I've added that information to the database, so technically, we're down to ZERO missing now!
Happy Independence Day to the American folks in the house!

Thanks for the info! Is this a different GameBase than the CBM/PET GameBase in the database now? I want to make sure I'm listing things correctly.pepe100 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 7:59 amGame Base CBM Digital Library:

There haven't been any GameBase project updates since I last updated the database, unless I missed something. Feel free to correct me if so!

Re: Database of all GameBase Projects
Thank you for such a convenient table, I would like to add a little from myself.
The torrent, so actively advertised in the table, is almost dead. I have not been able to download anything for the second day, and it contains truly unique assemblies.
In addition, the torrent has many duplicates, perhaps it can be made 2 times smaller, if you try.
I found a lot of things on these links:
https://archive.org/details/@zxyo?sort=title
https://archive.org/details/@sjakie43
https://archive.org/details/@pippos51
Links to these collections no longer work:
I also note that the table does not contain all the databases. It will take time to check everything, sort through, but off the top of my head I came across something like that.
I will write in the next message if I find such collections.

I'm stepping back from maintaining the database. If someone else would like to continue it, you have my blessing. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to it, and especially to all the talented and dedicated GameBase creators out there. You all are very much appreciated.

i think it was only ever active for a short while anyway.
My MEGA folder has a 50GB limit.
so the older GB files get deleted and replaced with newer Gamebases when they are made.
only regular vistors to the site will get everything.
As you noticed, some of the more popular GB's Atari 800, GB_C64, Amiga find there way over on Archive. uploaded by fans of the systems.
https://archive.org/download/game-base- ... GameBases/
https://archive.org/details/atari-xl-gamebase-2021
if you make a request for a certain GB you must have.
then someone will probably upload and host it for you, for short while.
but if you have the space to host the files for everyone, i will upload a few for you.
Re: Database of all GameBase Projects
no one is going to seed a 400+GB torrent for several years.

Re: Database of all GameBase Projects
I want to say that I have been preserving gaming heritage for many years.
I have a huge experience in creating gaming databases.
However, they were created for the Russian-speaking segment of the Internet
and therefore it is unlikely that anyone on this site knows about them.
I also collect and structure Dreamcast games, various books and magazines, and much more.
I am interested in gaming databases from a historical point of view.
This is painstaking work, and it is painful to see how some databases simply disappear without a trace.
I have about 600 GB of space in the cloud, but the hosting is Russian-language,
and first I need to check whether residents of other countries will be able to use it.
File example:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/DMNG/KhZhi7Mx3
Example directory:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/ePCi/23SMrTk1G
As for the Excel document. It's a great tool, a complete list of all databases, collected in one place.
I found a few inaccuracies in it and plan to fix them.
I would like to implement an online version of it, so that verified database authors could edit it directly, keeping it up to date.
These are difficult times and I don't know how long it will be possible to keep the collection up to date,
but in any case, if there is some kind of checkpoint, then finding the missing collections between it and the present time
will be easier than going in search of something written 15-20 years ago.
Perhaps it would be better to discuss some technical issues in private messages.
