Jaw Breaker
Neo-Rio says: This is a game that belonged on the Atari 2600, but this Commodore 64 version is fun - despite the creepy smiles on the Jaw Breakers.

Wizball
J2003C says: Wizball (US) is a classic addictive game. Difficult at first, but fairly easy once mastered. Excellent music and effects. Try playing with 2 players as a team.

Pitstop II
Neo-Rio says: Anyone who was anyone with a Commodore 64 had this game back in the day. Probably the first implementation of head-to-head displays on a computer game. Classic two player race duelling!

Dandy
Neo-Rio says: Gauntlet was actually a rip-off of this game, not the other way around. Dandy is, however, not all that dandy (pun intended). It's playable but bugged, thanks to the 11th hour software salvage...

Arkanoid - Revenge of Doh
Matt Larsen says: Another game I downloaded from a 1200 baud modem back in the 80's. I was so hooked on this game that when I downloaded it I stayed up ALL NIGHT in order to beat it (and this was a trained version I was playing!)

Hat Trick
J2003C says: Very close to the arcade game. Great feel and good response to joystick input. Makes a great 2P game too. Very challenging on the expert setting.

Scorpius
graveyardjohn says: Entertaining 'R-Type' a-like, but for two players. Excellent levels are only let down by the wimpy end of level baddies, but a very enjoyable blast nonetheless.

Way of the Exploding Fist, The
Neo-Rio says: The great music, the fantastic graphics, the intelligent gameplay, are all things we remember about this fighting game. Not to mention the sampled Bruce Lee "Hiiyaaah" taken from the movie "Enter the Dragon", heard on the loading screen.

|

Alleykat
Neo-Rio says: Alleykat is supposed to be about futuristic racing, but this game plays more like a 3D shoot'em up in the mould of Zaxxon. The game oozes class, a cool title track, great C64 graphics, and a nasty thing called a Katerkiller. I played this one for ages....
