Hi

Just for your info Jimbo the beta version gbv13b20100221.zip works perfectly in vista so something must have changed since that beta version and the latest one as It cant get the latest one to work at all under vista.

Many Thanks

Did you try to start GBRegRun.exe instead of GameBase.exe?

Aah I now know what the MSX2 bug is! It's because there's custom gfx, and none of my test GBs have any. It's due to when I moved the small icons out of the details tabs (the culprit is the 'classic game' icon).

Fix coming soon!

Yep, renaming ClassicGame_16x11.gif works for me too!

Ok, I got mine working again, with plenty of fiddling around.

Also I found something odd. If I create a new Database using GBToolbox.exe then run the empty newly created DB. I get the message 'Game name goes here!". So I press Shift + Insert and proceed to add a game it just locks up and freezes.

So unable to create new databases.

@Underfly: are you sure you're using the latest beta? I removed that "Game Name Goes Here" message in the latest one.

In any case, here's a new beta. Please run GBRegRun.exe the first time you run it.

- Fixed type mismatch error made glaringly obvious with the MSX2 gamebase
- Esc/F1 can now both be used to close the KV Peek window
- Esc now works to cancel/close the KV editor
- Updated credits in about screen (sorry if I forgot anyone!)

Is anyone able to try the new beta on Windows 7?

I want to see if the registry change from HKLM to HKCU has made a difference.

You'll need to install OUTSIDE of program files, possibly as administrator, but maybe try not as administrator first.

Thanks

Okay I ran it in Win 7, I had to run the GBregrun in admin mode for it to work I have it installed to my d:\emulation directory. Gamebase.exe is not running in admin mode, But my login has admin rights. So far so good I have only tested a few games in my SMS DB.

Hope this helps, Keep up the awesome work

I find this the the most stable v1.3 released as yet.

My gamebases all run fine again, and GBtoolbox works great.

I feel this should be the official and final v1.3 release.

Thank-you for finally bringing us the long awaited v1.3.

Thanks. Do you need to run GBRegRun every time? or just the first time?

Thanks for your comments. I can understand you enough :) Is anyone else having this error when left-clicking the num players? I can't reproduce it here.

I'm thinking of adding a documentation Wiki to bu22.com for the GameBase documentation, since the current docs could do with an overhaul. How does that sound? Would any of you want to have access to edit the docs once added to the wiki?

Also, once v1.3 is released, I have plans to add a proper "Databases" page to bu22.com where DB authors can login and list their databases, provide download links, summary, num-games, system make/model etc. It'll be database driven and searchable etc.
