Great news....

Just had to re-home seven of our 12 cats (don't ask) and many in law issues helping my mother in law get ready to go on a huge trip.

My times just eaten up...

Hi Mark, sorry I'm still late with the fixes...

Trust me, you would not want to swap with my life at the mo :)

Anyway, one bit of good news, Phaeron kindly added a command line that will help you for me, its /[no]casautoboot

With that those cas files that need RUN"C will actually be able to get the ready prompt to type it in, with it on the ready propmpt gets bypassed.

Thanks Paul, i knew about the command line as its already used in the altirra script. If you get chance to do any testing, i will make any recomended changes needed for altirra.

I've noticed that Atari800Win v4.1 does not work properly with GameBase v1.3, at least on Win'7 x64. When I try to run any game with this emulator directly from GAMEBASE, it always shows this error:

And path to BASIC file is always automatically cleared:

I thought maybe there is something bad with my "basic" file, then I ran this emu several times without GAMEBASE and when I do this, it does not clear path to "ataribas.rom". When (again) I run this emulator from GAMEBASE, it clears path to "ataribas.rom".

To be precise - I did it at least several times, also I have configuration of Atari800Win exported to .REG file, which I used to import to registry, also I ran this emu as administrator.

From Emulators.ini
[Atari800Win]
UseShortFilenames=0
UseDefaultTypes=0
SupportedTypes=atr;xex;bin;rom;com;cas;bas;
EmulatorPathFile=.\Atari 800\Emulators\Atari800Win4-1\Atari800Win.exe
ScriptFile=Atari800WinAutoTape.txt
It's nothing against creator, ofcourse and cheers for him - hardmanm - for his hard work on this project.

The same problem exists on Win'XP x32 - tested today & confirmed.

Maybe it's nothing important, especially when we have ALTIRRA, but I just want to say my experiences with errors win Atari800Win v4.1

Do others have the same problems ?

It might have something to do with my script for atari800win, which inserts the basic roms from within the atari800win folder.

If Key_basicrom CONTAINS(*)
Add_CLP( -basic_rom %basicrom_value%)
Else
Add_CLP( -basic_rom ataribas.rom)

End If

This is the code that does it, but it works fine on my Windows XP 32bit version pc.

yep, You are right, I supposed maybe there is something with script, but my knowledge is growing and I'm at beginning ;)

I have all bioses/system roms in ROM directory, but I solved this problem just by copy "ataribas.rom" also to root folder of emulator.

tnx for reply :)

Work is progressing quickly on the update pack, Paul Irvin has been rapidly testing games in Altirra and already checked more than half the games already, any errors have been reported and changed where possible.

Thanks to the author of Altirra, basic tape images now auto load, with my slighly amended script. Hope to have a release in the next week or so.

Paul: ROTFL, be happy that You don't have to load them via datasette with screwdiver ;)

Your both work is very appreciated. Too bad You don't live in Poland (city - no matter), because I'm very grateful and would like to buy truck of beer for You both. Same for other GameBase creators: .mad., user42, sjakie43, ldaneels... others :D

excuse me my English - I'm Polish

Had a minor setback, got all the way to W and my daughter reset the computer before I could save the open list but I'll still finish it today.

Actually I'm enjoying doing it, yes it's a bit boring but I feel like I'm finally doing my bit as I started a gamebase YEARS ago, announced it on here and then had to stop it.

Really annoyed me, so doing the little bit I'm doing makes me feel better. People don't often realise just how much work goes into a GB, the time and effort people like Mark, .mad, user42, sjakie43, ldaneels and the many other makers put in is worthy of a medal.

Found a bug in Altirra with Tree Surgeon (love that game), it randomly crashes. The reall joy has been seeing so many games, I've got a long history with the Atari, it's been my hobby and my living, Ive coded, cracked, helped publish games, worked for Atari User and really enjoyed the 8bit and now I have got to see some of the newer games I'd missed on it.

There's some lovely new games on it and the audio blows me away, C64 stuff done without all the filters but identical to the C64.

I urge you to sit down and go thru the games one at a time like I have, you will find some total treats.
