It seems i made some mistakes with the update pack, all the new games are in the root of the games directory, and need to be moved within their folder. The same is for the updated covers.

Thehe are also some missing games located here:

i have created a better update pack, which should contain all needed files, within there correct folders.

etract within the gamebase folder, and overwrite any duplicate named files.

A little edit from me, while testing all the games there were a few that didn't work Altirra at that point, ones like Brutal Karate and Pyromania for examples.

Since I passed those fixes on Phaeron very kindly looked at the list I sent him and fixed all but one of the games. Use version 1.7 beta 17 or above for those.

So if you are looking at the Gamebase and see Not Working In Altirra then still give the game a go, that was old info passed on to Mark that was correct at the time.

Also, I could not play every game all the way through, they were given a decent test and hopefully I got all the problem games but remember things like adventures will often want to save to a disk so if you get Error 139 in basic games or the game makes a rather rude noise and dies then it might be worth going to File / Disk Drives in Altirra and setting the R/O to either R/W or VirtRW.

All the games I found that needed it have been updated by Mark already but I dare say there's still some in there.

Btw, the difference between R/W and VirtRW are simple, R/W meaning Read Write will physically write to the image whereas VirtRW isn't permanent and just fools the game into thinking you can save to the disk. Obviously if you are playing an adventure and you have the option to save then use R/W otherwise you will have to start again each time :)

There are a few games that use a different version of Basic, these are best played in Atari800Win Plus(as long as you have the needed basic rom) as Altirra does not have a setting for this at present and we are hoping to persuade Phaeron to add it..

Oh last but not least, almost all games use a choice of the option Keys (F2 to F4) to start or change options, most used is F2 to start a game, also used is either joystick button in port one or two (or simulated keyboard presses) BUT, some games are 'different', Simulations will used most of the keyboard but other games use unusual keys like the shift keys to start or in a throw back to early games use the letter S to start.

If in doubt Mash keys :)

Thanks Mark,
Here are the updated screenshots i promised.
crunched them all to save 20MB of space.
re-snapped the few small screens.
examples

Touch
Jumper

don't overwrite, just replace the screenshot folder with this one.

use the new SETTINGS.INI included, to resize the gamebase screenshot window to 336x240.

And thanks to Phaeron a command line option to make the cartridge system easier, but that's not in the GB as it stands unless Mark has been a fast mover :)

I have now added the ability to auto select cartridge headers by useing the key=value variable called mapper and assigning it a value.

i hope to test all carts soon and post an update DB and script.
