This is best solution so far...
boot emulator with a default XL config.
from the emulator menu (3.10-test36)
System, Configure system.
set system to PAL
Peripherals, Devices. [Add].
Internal devices, VideoBoard (VBXE).
Core Version - FX 1.26
Base address - $D600-D6FF
[OK]

change memory to 320k Rambo.

- quit emulator
copy and rename the NEW created altirra.ini to vbxe.ini.

change VBXE part of the script to this...

Just tested all vbxe games and demos, they work correctly for me.
does the emu window bar say PAL and VBXE.

it must be the location of vbxe.ini in wrong /older emulator version.
or paths set from within it.
*each new altirra version should have roms scanned via the setup wizard and all settings RESET.

i will email you my emulator setup files for testing.

"Gamebase Atari 800" has also 8bit-Slicks


The game needs:
Check “System” > “Video” > “Frame Blending”.
Go to “System” > “Devices”.
– Click “Add”.
– Select “Cartridge devices” > “DragonCart”.
– Set Bridging mode to “NAT”.
– Click “OK”.

.mad.: Can You modify "GB Atari 800" script for Altirra, to fulfill these requirements? As for “Frame Blending”, it probably needs to be enabled only for this game. If You add “DragonCart”, would be even better. The newest script to modify (incl. VBXE support) is here:

Gamebase Atari 800 (by Mark) / Atari 800XL (by dax)

It's Gamebase compilation made by Mark Hardman, extended by me with games released in between 2016-2018. Also added a "few" of screenshots. It also includes "Combat" released at 2019.01.01. The compilation posted here has 7660 of Atari XL/XE games.
